This abstract impressionistic painting is of a marshy seaside landscape. The story does not stop there. In the clouds is the old World War II bomber aircraft floating in the cloudy skies. It is the ghost of the warplanes trying to safely land when there was no more fuel and no sandy beaches or landing places in site. In the Horizon of the painting one sees a possible road or airstrip. The pilots dream to see someplace to land and save his dedicated crew. The two worlds of current and past come together in this painting, begging the viewer to see more. Donoghue continues to find ways to respect the sacrifices and heroic acts of our soldiers and their families pain.
This original 11X 14 painting is made with various inks on the slick synthetic surface. The painting was mounted on a panel board and then place in a black wood floater frame. The blues, grays, purples and golds draw interest and delight to its viewer, while the slippery inks give structure to the fences, lighting and bridges of the scene.
With the large 46X60 print option size from a high definition scan, large spaces can be decorated. The bright colors and beauty of the abstract scene will delight many, while the serious viewer sees the historic story unfold.
