This is a view of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, Israel. As you approach the Dome of the Rock, you are greeted by arches that you must pass through in order to approach the mosque. The Islamic faith believes that this is the site where Muhammad ascended to Heaven. This is also the site of the Jewish Synagogue's Holy of Holies; hence the tension between the two faiths.
The beauty of this plaza cannot be denied regardless of what faith you are coming from.
