We are a family who adopts pets for life. This birthday cake for our dog is a testament of our love for dogs. Our kids do not allow us to forget our four legged family birthday. My son was only 4 years old and could not understand that our puppy should not get a life candle on her cake. We had to explain that she might burn herself and even worth eat the candle. We decided it was best to make a fresh batch of homemade dog bones to decorate her cake. One dog cookie we shaped in the shape of a candle. Our kids and puppy could not contain their happiness.
