Description
This little state park with so much history and just as much beauty. Dead Horse Point offers some amazing views of the Green River and the different layers of sandstone. This unique promontory allowed cowboys, before the turn of the 19th century, drive wild mustangs into this natural corral. The only way out was through a 30 yard neck of land that was fenced. The legend says that a group of mustangs were left on the point and the gate was left open. For some unknown reason, the horses remained in view of the Colorado, where they died.
