I do not know, the name of the Mounty (or Ranger) who recognized the friendship of his husky and this polar Bear. I believe there was a photo, similar to what I have created, that was taken by the Mounty (or Ranger, as I understand it) who owned and loved this dog. The story came to me thru my e-mail and here is the story, as I know it: "Much to his surprise the bear and the dog begin to play together:" I am thinking of going to Alaska sometime soon and it made me think of an e-mail, with pictures, that I received some time ago. If I remember correctly a Ranger was out with his sled dogs when, suddenly, his dog ran toward a Polar bear that was coming their way. Much to his surprise the bear and the dog begin to play together. For some reason, I just HAD to paint one of the pictures as I remember it. I believe the image is ingrained in my mind! The Mounty (or Ranger) said he saw the Polar Bear come back time and again to play with the dog. I wonder if, and hope it is still happening. The FAA watermark will not appear on your beautifully finished product.*
