Chicago - A Gentleman's Hat
Walking past the Monadnock Building on Jackson Street you'll find the neatest little store called Optima Hats. Like the building, these gentleman's hats seem to be a last bastion of a bygone era.
Here I am walking in through the door and the clerk looks up to see me wearing a ratty old baseball cap (rather comical as I think back) asking if I could take a few pictures. Looking back to her paper, I hear a "go ahead".
Besides the unique arrangement of hats and lighting, the quality and craftsmanship of these hats are unbelievable and now has me thinking about revisiting with my pocketbook.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
