Description
Just about the time it seems that there can be no prettier flower, a shocking blast of yellow shows up. This time it is a cacti which I transplanted from pot to the ground. It looked as if the plant would not survive the move. But what a surprise...this beautiful flower just shouted at me to take a photograph! The hairlike barbs surrounding the flowers are protective, for not one wants to come near the flower! Such stark contrast between the delicate beauty of the tender bloom and the stinging barbs.
