One of first things someone thinks about when you mention San Francisco is the iconic San Francisco Cable Cars. These cable cars have been part of San Francisco since 1873. They are considered part of the San Francisco mass transit system but are mostly used by the millions of tourist that come to the city every year.
The history of these famed cable cars is full of ups and downs as the modern era of transportation grew. But in my opinion the charm of these cars and the romantic backdrop of the city will help keep these cars in operation for years to come.
I captured this scene in late November on a cool afternoon. The area was lit up for the Christmas season as can be seen with the white lights strung on the trees that line the street.
