Fresh from the garden, I brought this beautiful cabbage in to clean for eating at a later date…this gorgeous 6 inches across head is the pride of my garden so far thus year.
Cabbage, red, white, green and purple, has been grown around the world for centuries, and is packed full of nutrition. One cup of uncooked cabbage has 85% RDI (recommended daily ) Vitamin K, and 54% Vitamin C. It is high in B12 and fiber.
Cabbage is very high in antioxidents which helps to reduce inflammation and had the potential to help with cancer. Cabbage also helps with digestion from its high fiber content. This wonderful plant also in helping the digestive systym produce healthy bacteria which wards off diseases. A study of nearly 100,000 women, showed these women to have a 27% lower rate for heart attack .
So….eat your cabbage! Your body will thank you!

Beautifully captured and I have no doubt that it tasted wonderful too. When we have a cabbage that is too large for two people to eat in one meal, we use half and the following day mix the other half with mashed potatoes and cook it in a frying pan with just a tiny amount of cooking oil and it makes a delicious dish, especially in the winter. Over here we call it "Bubble and Squeak". I don't know whether it has attained international acclaim, though.

What an awesome idea...cabbage and potatoes. I have some potatoes that are nearly ready to harvest. Might just have to try it out!
