Description
The Buff Bellied hummingbird is one of the often overlooked species of hummingbirds that frequents the Texas Gulf Coast. I decided to draw two buff bellied hummingbirds and a more common ruby-throated hummingbird feeding on an usual looking red flowering Powder Puff Plant flower. This is the version that is before the addition of watercolor pencil which will be the final version. I thought this version might be a good candidate for anyone who likes to color to add their own colors and make their version.
I decided to call it "Buffs Love Puffs - pen and ink" as it seemed appropriate as the birds feed on the puffy red flowers of this interesting plant. It is drawn on 140 lb. watercolor bond and the original is approximately 12"x9".
