The pied-bill grebe is a small, compact, chunky,waterbird with almost no tail. During breeding, the white bill has a distinctive black stripe, giving rise to the name, "pied."
This fella was photographed in March 2018 at Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park in northwest Florida.
