Black Bird Fly High In The Sky

Description
One late afternoon I was out in a field near me exploring as the cloudy day seemed like a good time to look for photo ops. This flock of black birds came flying by and I got this photograph of them against the gray sky. There were so many of them and I love the different stages of flight each bird was in as the group flew over. I believe these are Grackles. Photograph processed in black and white for a dramatic flair.
Common Grackles (Quiscalus quiscula) are in the blackbird and oriole family of birds. They mostly habitat in fields, farms and pastures. They nest in dense wooded areas as well in pairs of ten to thirty. They are omnivorous and eat insects, fish, frogs and even other birds.
