Description

Driving the Davis Mountains Scenic Loop, to the west of Fort Davis and well past the McDonald Observatory, we came across this vast vista encompassing Sawtooth Mountain and areas protected by the Nature Conservancy in the form of the Davis Mountains Preserve. Through various conservation easements, the Conservancy protects approximately 100,000 acres of rugged and isolated beauty in Far West Texas. This woodland area was highly scenic, remote, and primitive, not a single car drove by in the hour I stood there waiting for the right light. Pinon pine lent its distinctive smell while the air was thin, cool and crisp. Thanks for looking. FAA watermark WILL NOT show on fine art print.
