Description
Those buildings and structures that still exist after years of neglect are, in some ways, the greatest of storytellers. Once upon a time this old farmhouse held a family. It heard laughter, it saw tears, it knew the family loved it.
Now the ivy and trees shelter it. Rambunctious kids broke in a few times and partied and left destruction in their wake, but they do leave and the trees and ivy remain, hugging the old house with creaking bones close.

A lovely image - and your eulogy is very moving, bringing the old house back to days of love and warmth. F/L
Carol Senske replied:
The scout camp tore it down - too much liability - but I still have the memory:>)

Thanks you two! Sadly, this old house has been demolished (probably for liability reasons).

Carol, I love this wonderful thought provoking image, as I am fascinated by old buildings that are filled with history, I always feel a story, and I often feel there is a soul to a place once lived in. In reading your reply below, I hope all is well by you. I always mask up as well, as my husband has respiratory issues and seriously it is still a frightening time. Too many cases yet, too many not vaccinated. Anyway, please do take care, my best wishes to you and your family always. Big fave of course.
Carol Senske replied:
I am so sorry to hear your husband has respiratory issues. We are all too familiar with that! For now I guess we will just keep masking up and hoping no one crosses our paths that is infected. My best wishes to you and all the family - do stay safe. We will come out the other side some day, but it can hardly be soon enough. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and support you give me and others. You're an angel:>)

How great is this? And it is. Love the vines as shelter, the textures of the wood and walls....the choice to go b&w....all so poetic and beautiful as is your description. Great work, Carol! F/L+++
Carol Senske replied:
I'll tell you something funny - I thought of you when I was working on this because of the vines - thought of you and your gorgeous vining plants (chocolate vine was one, I believe). I do hope you are ALL well and avoiding Covid. What a PIA, but I am masked whenever I'm in public. Must do it no matter what because Al's condition means he has a severely compromised immune system. He is home recovering from an emergency appendectomy, and the docs and nurses were concerned he may not get through the operation but he did, and he's doing well. I wish this on nobody! Thanks for visiting. It's so good to know you are busy and thank you for taking time to comment - what a nice comment it is! Hugs:>)
