'Autumn Aspen with Sunburst', a fine art nature photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Not much makes me happier than standing in an autumn aspen forest when its leaves are at peak color - brilliant orange, yellow, and gold colors all around me, and the smell of autumn in the air. Mature forests such as this one have such beautiful canopies as well, with the tall, narrow trunks of the trees rising high towards the sky, their crowns of golden leaves contrasting against the vivid blue sky. I was especially excited about this capture, in that it also contains the mid morning sun - a burst of sunlight shines through the glowing leaves of a shorter tree on the left. This forest was near Aspen, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, near Castle Creek.
