Morning Glory Arch is a huge challenge to photograph! It’s in a bit of cave and from a distance you can’t differentiate the free-standing arch from the rock and cave background. In fact, from a distance, you can’t even tell there is a free-standing arch so after a long hike you initially feel let down. It isn’t until you get right up under the overhang that you can actually see the freestanding arch. In the photo, you see just a small opening between the arch and the surrounding rocks. I climbed up on the rocks on one side of the cavern, shooting down into the basin. One other hiker was just jumping down from his own hike up onto the rocks.
