Description
Asbury Park Conventional Hall Architecture by Regina Geoghan. A vertical format view of the center facade of the Asbury Park Convention Hall complex. The Convention Hall was built in the late 1920s, designed by architects Warren and Wetmore., who also designed Grant Central Terminal in NYC. Located at the north end of the Asbury Park NJ ocean boardwalk, it is an indoor exhibition/entertainment center with over 3,000 seats. The Hall is at the east end of a complex that also includes the Paramount Theatre and a covered arcade mall. Both the Convention Hall and Theatre are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The architecture has a charm that is unique, a combination Italian-French style with an ample array of nautical themed artwork on the façade. Over the years, the hall has hosted conventions, sporting events, automobile shows, trade shows and more. The Hall and the Theatre are world famous for the concerts and the music legends who have performed there.
