Title
Anole On Anthurium
Artist
Heidi Fickinger
Medium
Photograph - Photographic Print
Description
On the same day I encountered a gold dust gecko drinking raindrops from the spadix of an anthurium in my yard, I looked to find this Green Anole perched on a different flower. While this anole might have been drinking raindrops, they are not big nectar eaters as are the geckos. These reptiles are hunters of insects. If you look very closely, there is the antenna of an insect, likely a Hawaiian cricket, protruding from the side of its mouth.
