Description
Another for the Self Portrait Page, this was shortly after my father passed away after 18 years of dealing with ALS (Lou Gehriggs).
Somehow this image still rings very true for my internal rage and angst about his experiences. He dealt with his bodies' betrayal better than I ever could.
I don't know if this is something anyone else would want a print of, but it will be interesting to see if anyone else resonates with it.

So sorry for your loss! Outstanding angry composition, lighting, dark shading, excellent color and artwork! F/L voted
Monte Arnold replied:
Thank you Gary, I appreciate that very much. I often wonder about letting that kind of intensity orout into the world, but maybe it will help normalize those exasperating feeling for someone else as well. Thanks again!

Oh, Monte. I knew your dad had passed and that you loved him dearly, but I didn't know how or why. To have watched him deteriorate for years on end, must have been horrendous. Knowing there was no cure; even more terrible. Your image is not one easy to look at but one that is undeniably raw and emotion that is palpable. I'm so sorry . Maggie
Monte Arnold replied:
Wow... Such a flashback. It's a healing reminder going back to e this, as horrible as that experience was, I'm always afraid I might forget any aspect of who he was. Thanks so much for taking the effort to get through all of that and relate. I really appreciate that you let your mind go to what is a very dark place. π’π―π₯π₯π₯

I understand. It must have been a powerful experience. My condolences, Monte. f/l
Monte Arnold replied:
Thank you so much AnnJo - you're comment is especially poignant and appreciated considering this is the month he passed away 10 years ago. June is always a rough month now, so realizing how so many are feeling this same kind of loss is really therapeutic. Much love π€ππ»
