Sankofa is an African word from the Akan tribe in Ghana. Sankofa is symbolized by a bird moving forward, but looking backward with an egg in its mouth...the egg has been collected because it holds the wisdom of the past and is necessary to fulfill the promise of the future. The literal translation of the word and the symbol is "It is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.�

These series of designs is sold for much needed donations in my community and overseas partnerships. For much needed student scholarships, seniors, people with disabilities and most of all people overseas. Please purchase something no matter how small it will help others in need.
