Description
The foundation stone for All Saints Church Bells Hill was laid in 1869 by Mrs Tremayne, wife of the land owner Lieutenant Colonel Tremayne, as a new church was needed for the growing population of Mylor Bridge in Cornwall.
The small parish church is two miles away in Mylor Churchtown, transportation was rare at that time so there was great celebration when the building was completed in 1892.
The coming together of the Anglicans and Methodists of the village now means this Messy Church and the Methodist Chapel are both used alternately for evening services.
The construction of the Mylor Community Garden in the unused area around the back and side of the church with twice weekly gardening parties including tea and cake makes this a thriving addition to modern village life.
