I encountered this same leader when I visited Acoma; he agreed to the pose, and then, just as I shot, he blinked - my bad luck. Yours is a very kind portrait of him.

wonderful native American portrait Debby. l/f

Grand Rapids, MI - United States

The Native Americans had it right... The Internet Graph of Ratios of Cattle and Humans to a small sliver of disappearing Wildlife gave me chills and gives evidence of an unsustainable future. We don't live in balance with the World around us as the Indians do.

Debby Pueschel replied:

It is truly sad that we have taken away from the life of Mother Earth. Though I am not Native American, I have a deep respect and love for those who live with the land. I have worked with and lived with many different groups of peoples of the world, and we don't 'get' it as do those who live in harmony with the Creator. Thank you for your understanding and comprehension of what is truly important in life...to love, live and respect life! Peac

Samuel, you are so right! Mother Earth began pure, and we have tarnished it greatly. I appreciate your comments and wisdom! Thank you

Thank you Cindy for your comments. It is a difficult life, but those who cling tight to the traditions of Mother Earth, it is a blessing. Actually, many of the 'Old Ones" will stay up on top of the mesa to escape the noise and confusion of the 'entrapments' of today's world. Thank you for the comments and the FL

The Earth is not happy with what we have done to her. Soon she will take herself back from the many and give back to the few who will honor instead of exploit and dishonor the land...
