Description
This is an old spur into one of the forer Fprt Lawn warehouses for the old Springs company in 2009. Nature is taking over in no uncertain terms. Nx cars from all kinds of carriers would line the tracks here dozens at a time, many of them 40 footers from the host railroad, the Lancaster and Cester Railway. The Springs Mills plants were built here in the early 1960s and closed for good by 2007 and sold.
Interestingly, Derick Close, whose family owned and eventually sold Springs, has boughtthe hour plants back and is trying to woo textile firms into the old buildings. I first heard a rumor on this several years ago because he was apparently enquiring with the railroad about rebuiling the spurs into the plants. His family sold the railroad in 2010 to the Gulf & Ohio Railways.
