Description
16 Charlotte Street is a beautiful Greek Revival Mansion built-in 1835 by Robert Martin, a successful merchant in the wagon-yard trade during the early part of the 19th century. Located on the corner of East Bay Street and Charlotte Street, the approximate 0.58 acre campus style layout boasts a four-story 9,300 sf main residence (which currently houses Pratt-Thomas Walker Law Firm) and two rear additional stand-alone buildings that have been converted to office. One rear building is identified as the West Wing with approximately 3,448 sf on two levels with a wrought iron balcony and the other two story building is the East Wing with approximately 2,004 sf. The corner lot allows for 21 on-site parking spaces. The property has a high brick wall on the perimeter and large wrought iron gates. The buildings were in disrepair and the current owners have painstakingly restored them to their original grandeur.
