I have done two paintings to capture an iris glowing against a darker background; this is the first of the two, and I wanted to try some different techniques the 2nd time around. I love the way the golden heart of this iris glows!

I appreciate it, Pamela! The extra red/orange flowers are wild columbine that grow among my irises every year - fun counterpoint in orange to the purple/blue of the irises!
